Tom Bailey has over 40 years of experience in civil consulting engineering with a focus in water resources while also working in areas of transportation planning and design, municipal improvements in roadways, water and sewer systems and land development.  His early career was with a large national transportation firm in the south east.  After 5 years he moved to San Antonio Texas where he worked for several smaller firms before he starting his own consulting firm in 1989.  Over the 20 years with that firm he developed and implemented the business strategy that allowed success and growth.

Tom received his BS in civil engineering from the University of Illinois in 1977.  While living in Raleigh NC and working on the design of Interstate 40 from Benson to Wilmington NC he designed all the cross drainage structures for the portion IH40 he was working on.  This piqued his interest and led to 2 semesters of water resources engineering study at NC State University in fall 1981 and spring 1982.  He also passed his NC Professional Engineering exam in fall of 1981

In 2013 Tom was able to move back to NC and has settled in the Asheville area.  He has interests in soil fertility, mycology, medicinal herbs, permaculture and how these practices can heal land.
